Find Relief From Your Fall Allergies
Our Doctors Can Help
Fall allergies are an immune response caused by the pollen and mold in the air. An allergic reaction occurs when your immune system confuses a harmless substance for something dangerous. As your body fights off these bothersome allergens, it creates antibodies, and these antibodies produce histamine, which can cause mild to severe allergy symptoms.
Those with allergies often experience symptoms that last for several weeks to months of the year. They often reoccur during the same time of year.
Common Allergy Symptoms:
- Sinus Congestion
- Runny Nose
- Post-Nasal Drip
- Sneezing
- Coughing
- Itchy or Watery Eyes
Diagnosing & Treating Fall Allergies
When allergies are suspected, we recommend getting allergy tested to determine what allergens are bothersome. Allergy skin testing is completed in our office during your first appointment, so you will leave knowing what is causing your symptoms. Our doctors will take your medical history to use along with the skin test to diagnose an allergy. After testing, our doctors will recommend the best treatment options for your allergies.
It’s important to avoid bothersome allergens. However, that’s not always possible. Our physicians can prescribe antihistamines and other allergy medications to control your symptoms. They may recommend allergy immunotherapy, or allergy shots, for patients with moderate to severe allergies. Allergy shots treat the underlying cause of allergies and can help patients find long-lasting relief.
