Pediatric Allergists in Little Rock
Children Allergy Testing and Treatment
Our Arkansas Allergy and Asthma Clinic doctors are all board certified by the American Board of Allergy & Immunology. In addition, our allergists are also trained in pediatrics, so are very comfortable treating pediatric patients for allergies and asthma.
Our goal is to provide the best pediatric allergy services to families in the region and we will continue to grow to bring allergy care to new areas that are in need. We provide allergy and asthma testing, as well as education and treatment for allergies, asthma, and immunologic conditions.
Children Allergy Testing & Treatment:
Per the American Academy of Pediatrics, age is not a barrier for skin testing, and even infants can benefit. Our doctors and nurse are trained to make the allergy testing and treatment experiences as comfortable as possible for children.
We offer testing for environmental allergies (tree pollen, grass pollen, weed pollen, dust mites, animal dander, mold), stinging insect allergies, food allergies, latex and medication allergies.
After testing our allergy doctors will discuss the best treatment options for your child. This may be a combination of avoidance, medications, and/or immunotherapy. The age in which shots may be recommended to young children is done on a case-by-case basis.
Children Asthma Testing & Treatment
Children with asthma often have symptoms before they turn five, and one in four children with allergies will develop asthma at some point. Asthma is a chronic lung disease; it cannot be cured but can be controlled through avoidance of triggers, and with the help of medication and immunotherapy (allergy shots). While children often seem to grow out of their asthma, many of their symptoms return later in life.
Our doctors have the specialized training and experience to determine if your child has asthma, what is causing it, and how best to treat it. We offer the following testing and treatment options for asthma:
- Pulmonary Function Testing (lungs)
- Asthma Management
